350th Celebration of St. Ignace
Lively French Canadian, Celtic and Maritime favorites will be performed on the grounds of the cultural center.
La Compagnie will perform "Music of Mackinac" at the historic Ste. Anne's Church on Mackinac Island.
Conklin Park: La Compagnie will be available for a "meet and greet" the afternoon of Saturday, August 1 from 3:00-5:00 with a formal concert-in-the-park at 8:00 p.m. Another meet-and-greet will be held on Sunday, August 2 at the same location from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m.
La Compagnie will perform highlights from "Crossroads: Change in Rural America" and several Great Lakes Maritime shanties, sing-alongs and community dance numbers
La Compagnie will kick-off the Smithsonian Exhibit's "Crossroads: The Change of Rural America," which comes to Rogers City, MI. La Compagnie, along with local historians and videographers has created an audio-visual and musical-dance exposé that celebrates the changing face of the northeastern lower peninsula of Michigan.
La Compagnie Musical Dance Troupe (Jean Marie Learman, Kathy Morris, Genot Picor, Nellie Schrantz-Osantowski and Mark Szabo) will perform French Canadian, Celtic, Great Lakes Maritime and Michigan folk music.
